Sharing our stories is important for us to build connections and knowledge. We do this by thinking about the impact of our work on others and the best ways to communicate those connections. Each story is unique, yet the steps we take to tell our stories follow a common path, which can be guided by these tools.
Web resources provide an important and accessible way for us to share news and other information. Experience shows that some methods are better than others when communicating this way. We also must adhere to university guidelines and policies, and legal requirements. These tools help us to do so.
The College and the University publish information in a variety of publications. These include the College’s print magazine Exchange, an online magazine, the university magazine UNC Charlotte, department newsletters and brochures and other print materials. These tools help us use these resources effectively.
Telling our stories includes more than words. Photographs and videos help us communicate visually. Using photographs and videos to tell our stories involves understanding how to create and use visual elements effectively. This also encompasses understanding the relevant laws and guidelines.
